Frequently asked questions
-
Yes. A short, no-fee consultation lets us think together about what brings you, whether psychodynamic therapy is a good fit, and practicalities such as timing and format.
-

-
Psychodynamic therapy tends to work best as an ongoing, open-ended process — this is what allows the deeper work to unfold. That said, we would always review together as we go, and there's no pressure to commit to a fixed number of sessions from the outset. The initial consultation is a good place to start thinking about what feels right for you.

Yes. I follow BACP ethical guidelines on confidentiality. I discuss my work in clinical supervision — without identifying details — to support good practice. If there were ever a serious risk of harm, I may need to act to keep you or others safe, and I would aim to discuss this with you first.
-
I currently offer self-pay sessions only at £80 per session.

That's exactly what the free initial consultation is for. We can talk through what you're looking for and whether psychodynamic therapy suits your needs — with no obligation to proceed.
